Haryana CM Saini praises state’s development, MSP, and welfare schemes, criticizes Punjab govt for leadership failures during natural disaster.
Punjab and Haryana are united by blood, brotherhood, and culture; the AAP government has broken the people’s trust: Haryana Chief Minister, Saini, stated that Punjab and Haryana are more than just neighboring states, as they have blood links, brotherhood, and cultural values. He stated that the people of Haryana have a deep fondness for Punjab and always support it in times of need. Referring to the recent natural disaster in Punjab, CM Saini stated that throughout the difficult moment, Haryana gave every conceivable support, standing by Punjab like an elder brother and reflecting the region’s rich traditions and values.
CM Saini was addressing a large crowd at the Maghi Mela at Sri Muktsar Sahib. Paying homage to the sacred soil of Sri Muktsar Sahib, he stated that visiting this historic site was a huge honour for him. He described Sri Muktsar Sahib as a land immortalized in history, where the Chali Mukte sacrificed their life for their beloved Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He stated that this hallowed place teaches that emancipation is gained not just via death, but also by pursuing the path of truth and standing firm against injustice. On the occasion, Chief Minister Saini expressed cordial greetings to the people on Makar Sankranti.

Speaking about the recent natural calamity in Punjab, CM Saini stated that the people of Haryana stood shoulder to shoulder with Punjab, providing support in every way possible. However, he expressed sadness that throughout this terrible time, some leaders failed to demonstrate sympathy to the people’s suffering.
CM Saini claimed that Punjab lacked strong leadership during the crisis. He claimed that the Punjab administration had made various promises to the public, but when it came time to accept responsibility, the government appeared to avoid accountability.
Highlighting the Haryana government’s successes, CM Saini stated that during the Assembly elections, a Sankalp Patra containing 217 pledges was released, 54 of which have already been fulfilled within a year, and work on the remaining promises is going quickly. In contrast, he stated that most of the Punjab government’s pledges have remained on paper.
According to Chief Minister Saini, Haryana has become the first state in the country to procure all crops at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Farmers receive payment within 48 hours, and in the event of a delay, interest is paid, boosting farmers’ trust in the system.
On the problem of stubble management, CM Saini stated that, although no significant actions have been made in Punjab, the Haryana government is providing agricultural machinery subsidies and a Rs 1,200 per acre incentive to farmers for stubble management.
He further stated that problems in the MGNREGA plan had appeared in Punjab, but despite complaints, no real action has been taken. CM Saini concluded his speech by stating that Haryana’s double-engine government had substantially expedited development and secured effective implementation of welfare measures.
