Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini announced that the Housing Board Haryana has been dissolved and merged into the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP). The move aims to enhance administrative efficiency, provide better housing facilities to citizens, and strengthen the integration of urban planning across the state.
The Chief Minister Nayab Saini made the announcement while presenting a Government Resolution on the first day of the Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. He emphasized that the functions of the Housing Board Haryana and HSVP were largely overlapping, and merging the two bodies will help streamline operations, reduce redundancy, and ensure a more coordinated approach to urban development.
CM Nayab Saini Assures Employees’ Interests Safeguarded Amid Housing Board Merger
CM Nayab Saini reassured that the interests of all employees of the Housing Board Haryana have been fully protected. He said that the government is committed to a smooth transition, ensuring that staff and ongoing projects continue without disruption.
The resolution was passed under the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 80 of the Haryana Housing Board Act, 1971, formally transferring all responsibilities and functions of the Housing Board to HSVP. The merger is expected to improve efficiency in housing project execution, accelerate urban infrastructure development, and make citizen-centric housing solutions more accessible.
