The Gujarat unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced the launch of a statewide farmers’ campaign titled “Parivartan Lao, Kisan Bachao” (Bring Change, Save Farmers), aimed at addressing the longstanding issues faced by farmers across the state. The journey will commence from Somnath and conclude in Gandhinagar on 8th March, with AAP leaders and workers joining in different phases.
AAP Gujarat President Isudan Gadhvi, in a video statement, highlighted that fundamental concerns of farmers have remained unresolved for the past three decades. These include inadequate prices for crops, failure to procure at MSP, black-marketing of fertilizers and seeds, sale of adulterated or fake inputs, challenges and exploitation in APMC markets, insufficient electricity supply, and unresolved loan issues.

Isudan Gadhvi also expressed concern over the India–US trade deal, which he believes could negatively impact farmers, livestock rearers, and laborers. To raise awareness and demand solutions, AAP farmers’ leaders Praveen Ram and Manoj Sorathia will lead the yatra from Somnath.

Isudan Gadhvi further stated that the yatra will see the participation of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann at its conclusion. He appealed to farmers, laborers, tenant farmers, farmer organizations, and rural citizens to join the movement setting aside political differences. According to him, participation will serve two purposes: apply pressure on the government to resolve farmers’ issues and increase awareness among farmers about their rights.
