Delhi Cluster Bus Employees Claim Salary Delays Under BJP Government

Workers allege delayed salaries and unfair strike penalties under BJP rule, contrasting timely payments during Kejriwal government

by Tamanna

New Delhi: Employees of Delhi Cluster Bus services have raised concerns over delayed salaries, claiming a stark difference compared to the previous AAP government.

According to statements shared on social media, the Delhi Cluster Bus employees said, “During the Kejriwal government, our salaries used to come on time, but ever since the BJP came to power, many times our pay has not come for 2–3 months. We even have to go on strike for our salaries, and even then, they deduct money from us for going on strike.”

The Delhi Cluster Bus workers have expressed frustration over the inconsistent salary disbursements, highlighting the financial strain it causes on them and their families. The delay in payments has reportedly forced several employees to resort to strikes to demand their rightful dues, only to face deductions as penalties for the strike action itself.

The Delhi cluster bus system, which operates under public-private partnerships, serves thousands of commuters daily, and employee dissatisfaction may have broader implications on service quality and operations.

So far, officials from the Delhi Transport Department or the private operators have not responded to requests for comment regarding the allegations.

This development has reignited debates about employee welfare and governance in the city’s transport sector, with opposition parties pointing to the delays as a failure of the current administration to ensure timely remuneration.
