New Delhi – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP-led Delhi government of betraying parents over the issue of rising private school fees. Senior AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the BJP government made false promises to control fee hikes but has now admitted its failure before the Supreme Court.
Addressing the issue, Bhardwaj said that soon after the BJP came to power in Delhi, several private schools increased their fees. “The BJP government misled parents by claiming it would bring a law to roll back the increased fees. However, this promise has turned out to be completely hollow,” he stated.

According to Bhardwaj, Delhi government minister Ashish Sood and the government’s lawyer have themselves admitted in the Supreme Court that the law introduced by the BJP government cannot control or reduce the increased school fees. “This admission exposes the BJP’s deception and confirms that parents have been misled,” he added.
AAP leaders said the unchecked fee hikes have placed an enormous financial burden on middle-class families and accused the BJP government of siding with private school managements instead of protecting parents’ interests.
