Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is apprehensive about Arvind Kejriwal’s political influence in the national capital, following reports of posters being removed across the city. The posters, which carried the message “One Year Delhi in Chaos, Missing Kejriwal”, were intended to mark the completion of one year of the BJP government in Delhi and highlight the party’s perceived governance failures.
AAP leaders claimed that the posters were installed legally in various parts of Delhi through the municipal vendors of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), with all payments made accordingly. Saurabh, the Delhi State Convenor of AAP, stated that these posters were meant to inform the public about the challenges faced by the city under the BJP administration and to draw attention to issues such as infrastructure deficits, public services, and governance lapses.
However, according to AAP, BJP members have actively removed the posters and allegedly issued threats to the vendors, demanding their immediate removal. This incident has escalated political tensions in Delhi, with AAP accusing the ruling party of attempting to suppress dissenting voices and avoid public scrutiny.
“This is a clear indication that the BJP fears the public’s response and is unwilling to face criticism,” said Saurabh. “Arvind Kejriwal has always been committed to raising the voice of Delhi’s citizens, and this attempt to remove our posters reflects the BJP’s discomfort with accountability.”

The posters were strategically placed in high-visibility areas to reach citizens across Delhi, aiming to highlight the challenges faced in sectors such as health, education, public transport, and municipal services. AAP argues that the one-year governance record of the BJP has left citizens frustrated and dissatisfied, which the posters intended to convey in a concise yet impactful manner.

Political analysts suggest that the removal of the posters could become a contentious issue in Delhi politics, particularly with the upcoming municipal and Assembly elections. The AAP leadership has expressed its determination to continue highlighting governance issues and reaching out to citizens, despite opposition attempts to suppress their messaging.
“The BJP may try to silence us by threatening vendors or removing posters, but the voice of Delhi’s citizens cannot be ignored,” added Saurabh. “Our campaign is about bringing awareness to governance gaps and ensuring that citizens are informed about the administration’s performance. Attempts to curb this dialogue will only strengthen public scrutiny and political debate.”

This incident comes amid a backdrop of increasing political rivalry in Delhi, where the AAP has consistently positioned itself as a party focused on governance, transparency, and citizen welfare, while the BJP seeks to consolidate its urban voter base. The ongoing dispute over the posters underscores the high-stakes political environment in the national capital and reflects the growing emphasis on public perception ahead of future elections.
As of now, the AAP has vowed to continue its campaign across Delhi through legal channels, emphasizing that citizens have the right to be informed about the administration’s performance and hold it accountable.
