British Official Meets Punjab Minister on Visa Fraud Campaign

Political Counsellor of British High Commission meets Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora pertaining to “Visa Fraud Ton Bacho” campaign

Chandigarh, 7 August 2025:
Daniel Sherry, Political Counsellor of the British High Commission, paid a special courtesy visit to Cabinet Minister Sh. Sanjeev Arora at Udyog Bhawan, Chandigarh, to discuss the ongoing “Visa Fraud Ton Bacho” campaign aimed at protecting Punjab’s youth.

The meeting focused on safeguarding the future of young people from the rising threat of visa frauds involving illegal agents, fake documents, and deceptive foreign travel promises. Both officials acknowledged the serious challenges faced by aspiring travelers and emphasized the importance of public awareness.

They jointly expressed their commitment to intensify the awareness campaigns led by the Government of Punjab, aiming to provide accurate information and prevent fraudulent activities effectively. The collaboration between the British High Commission and Punjab government seeks to empower youth with knowledge and curb illegal visa-relatedfrauds.
