Patna: Following the presentation of the Bihar budget, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday described it as “inclusive and growth-oriented,” emphasizing that it was built on the principle of development with justice.

Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the CM shared his views on the ₹3.47 lakh crore budget presented by Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav. Highlighting Bihar’s rapid economic progress, Kumar noted that the state’s estimated growth rate for the current fiscal year is an impressive 14.9 per cent.

“The  Bihar budget for 2026-27 reflects the resolve for a developed Bihar. It is comprehensive, inclusive, and growth-oriented, addressing the needs of all sectors and communities, including farmers, entrepreneurs, youth, and women,” Kumar wrote.

  • Budget Size: ₹3.47 lakh crore, an increase of over ₹30,000 crore from the previous year.
  • Economic Growth: Bihar’s estimated growth rate for 2026-27 is 14.9%.
  • Employment Initiatives: The government aims to provide jobs to one crore youth by 2030. Efforts have already begun to ensure employment through proper management of state finances.
  • Women Empowerment: Under the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme, ₹2 lakh financial assistance will be provided to one woman per household for employment.
  • Industrial Promotion: The Bihar budget is expected to boost industries, provide opportunities to every family, support skill development for youth, and empower women.

  • Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary praised the Bihar budget, stating it provides a “clear roadmap for a developed Bihar,” addressing the needs of the state’s 14 crore residents while focusing on social justice, economic growth, and inclusive development.
  • BJP State President Sanjay Saraogi said the budget strengthens infrastructure and supports all sections of society, aligning with PM Modi’s vision of “sabka saath, sabka vikas” and promoting inclusive economic growth.
  • RJD Leader Bhai Virendra criticized the budget, claiming it repackages old schemes from the previous Mahagathbandhan government, and ignores pressing issues like inflation, unemployment, and social security.
