Patna, July 30:
Ahead of the state assembly elections, Bihar chief Minister announced a major increase in incentives of frontline health workers. ASHA workers will now receive ₹3,000 per month, up from ₹1,000.
While MAMTA workers – who assists with childbirth in government hospitals, will receive ₹600 per delivery, doubled from ₹300
Nitish Kumar highlighted the critical role these workers play in improving rural healthcare services
“Honoring their contribution to strengthen health services, their decision aim to boost their morale and support grassroot health delivery”
With over 90,000 ASHA workers and approximately 7,500 MAMTA workers in Bihar, this pay hike is expected to have widespread impact across rural communities
