STARTING FROM THURSDAY, PEOPLE FROM 15 MORE CITIES CAN PARTICIPATE IN ‘CM DI YOGSHALA’
CHANDIGARH, October 4: With an aim to keep people of Punjab fit and healthy, the mass campaign ‘CM di Yogshala’ launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is all set to further spread its wings in 15 more cities of the state from Thursday onwards, taking the total number of cities to 24.
Earlier, the ‘CM di Yogshala’ campaign was launched in nine cities including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Phagwara, Patiala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, SAS Nagar, Sangrur and Bathinda in two phases. Currently, as many as 300 ‘CM di Yogshalas’ are being organised daily in the morning in these cities, wherein, over 10000 people are taking advantage of these yoga camps.
The 15 new cities included in the third phase include all the major districts including Barnala, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Mansa, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Pathankot, Rupnagar, Nawanshahr, Tarn Taran and Malerkotla.

The Chief Minister said that it is the need of the hour not only to maintain good health but also de-stress the people, who face numerous challenges every day in their lives. He said that rising stress levels amongst people is a major cause of concern for everyone and Yoga can play an important role in saving people from it.
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, who himself does yoga daily in the morning, said that it is essential to maintain mental and physical equilibrium by living a quality life by making certain changes in lifestyle and by practising Yoga.
The Chief Minister said that people can dial toll-free number 7669 400 500 or login to https://cmdiyogshala.punjab.gov.in for free yoga training adding that trained Yoga instructors will help people in acquainting themselves about yoga. He envisioned that in consonance with the glorious ancient tradition of India, these Yogshalas would help in making the Punjabis healthy, both physically and mentally.
Pertinently, anyone having appropriate space at or near their homes to conduct ‘CM di yogshala’ and a group of 25 people with them to join the yoga class, then the Punjab Government will send highly trained Yoga instructors to impart free Yoga training to people in open parks and other public places.
