The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that PSL 2026 Pakistan will move forward as planned, dismissing rumors of a potential delay or relocation amid rising regional tensions. Training schedules for all franchises have been finalized, signaling the league will take place in its scheduled Pakistani venues.
Tournament Schedule and Security Measures
According to The Express Tribune, the PCB has ruled out shifting PSL 2026 Pakistan to an alternative location like the UAE. Practice sessions are set to begin on March 24 and 25, leading up to the opening clash at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where defending champions Lahore Qalandars will face Hyderabad Kingsmen.
To ensure player safety, the PCB has announced that security arrangements will be equivalent to those provided for a head of state. So far, no international cricketers have expressed concerns or withdrawn from their squads, including players from Australia and other key cricketing nations.
Bangladeshi Players Await Government Clearance
The participation of Bangladeshi cricketers in PSL 2026 Pakistan remains uncertain. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to seek formal government approval before allowing its players to travel. This affects six players, including Mustafizur Rahman and Parvez Hossain Emon from Lahore Qalandars, as well as Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and Rishad Hossain from Peshawar Zalmi.

BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Nazmul Abedin explained that while No Objection Certificates (NOCs) had been granted initially, the board is deferring to government safety assessments. “If the government tells us that it is safe to go… then the players will go,” Abedin said, stressing that official evaluation is crucial for player safety.
Optimism for a Full Season
Despite uncertainties, the PCB remains confident that PSL 2026 Pakistan will see full participation from international stars, ensuring a highly competitive and entertaining season for fans. Organizers are committed to upholding the integrity and excitement of the league while prioritizing the safety of all participants
