New Delhi: In a major development for New Zealand Cricket, the board has officially announced the squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of England. The New Zealand Women squad for England tour will compete in a six-match series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is against England women’s cricket team.
The ODI leg of the tour is scheduled to be played on May 10, 13, and 16, while the T20I matches will take place on May 20, 23, and 25. The ODI fixtures will be held at Chester-le-Street, Northampton, and Cardiff. Meanwhile, the T20Is are set to be played in Derby, Canterbury, and Hove.
The New Zealand Women squad for England tour features several promising young players, including Flora Devonshire, Nensi Patel, Emma McLeod, and Izzy Sharp, all of whom are set to embark on their first overseas assignment and will be keen to make a strong impression.

Star all-rounder Amelia Kerr will captain the side in both formats. The tour will also mark the ODI farewell of veteran batter Suzie Bates, who recently confirmed that she will retire from international cricket after the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in June. This makes the New Zealand Women squad for England tour even more significant, as it will be one of Bates’ final appearances in national colours.
Coach Ben Sawyer Shares His Thoughts
Following the announcement of the New Zealand Women squad for England tour, head coach Ben Sawyer expressed his excitement about leading a relatively inexperienced group against a strong English side.
“England is a tough side to beat in their home conditions – so it’s a good chance to test ourselves. We’ve got some exciting young talent in this squad with the likes of Emma, Izzy, Nensi, and Flora, alongside our core group of seasoned campaigners. Our younger players are finding their feet in international cricket but they’ve proved they have what it takes to succeed at this level,” Sawyer was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
