India defeated England by 100 runs to claim the Under-19 World Cup 2026, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s remarkable 175-run innings playing a pivotal role in the victory. Alongside him, captain Ayush Mhatre contributed significantly with both bat and ball, guiding Team India to their sixth title.

This win adds Ayush Mhatre to a prestigious list of Indian captains who have lifted the U19 World Cup trophy.

Indian Captains Who Have Won the Under-19 World Cup

  • Mohammad Kaif (2000): Kaif became the first Indian captain to win the Under-19 World Cup, defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the final.
