MS Dhoni’s Vital Advice to CSK After IPL 2025 Setbacks
Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni, known for his cool-headed leadership, has delivered a clear message to the young Indian batters who have been bright spots amid CSK’s tough IPL 2025 season. After CSK suffered their 10th defeat, this time against Rajasthan Royals, Dhoni urged the youngsters to focus on consistency and maintaining composure under pressure if they want to unlock their full potential.

Speaking candidly after the match, Dhoni said, “They have to try for consistency, but if you are looking for a 200-plus strike rate then consistency is hard to get… they have the ability to hit sixes at any stage.” His advice was simple but powerful: don’t let pressure overwhelm you, learn from senior players and coaches, and develop the crucial skill of reading the game.
CSK’s loss to Rajasthan Royals by six wickets left them at the bottom of the IPL table, but Dhoni remained measured in his assessment. He pointed out that losing early wickets put extra strain on the lower middle order, limiting the team’s ability to bat through the full 20 overs. “Brevis’ innings was very nice, he was taking chances and I feel the run-rate was nice, that’s the phase we want to improve slightly,” Dhoni added.
Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson acknowledged his team’s inconsistent season, finishing with four wins and 10 losses. He admitted mistakes were made but praised the young talent in the squad, expressing hope for the future. “There’s not much difference in the quality of teams. The margin for error in winning and losing is very small. We need to review properly and come back stronger next season.”
Samson also praised the performances of young players like pacer Akash Madhwal and batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi, whose mature 57-run innings helped seal the Royals’ victory. “Madhwal has worked incredibly hard, and Vaibhav has great game awareness for someone so young,” said Samson.
RR opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal echoed this positivity, sharing that despite some injuries, the team was focused and motivated. “We enjoyed the win and will take confidence from it moving forward,” he said.
Dhoni’s calm and constructive message highlights that in cricket, as in life, persistence, patience, and learning from experience are as important as raw talent. For CSK’s promising young stars, these qualities may well be the key to turning their IPL fortunes around.
