The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced a massive BCCI ₹131 Crore Reward for the India national cricket team after their historic triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The reward comes after India defeated the New Zealand national cricket team by a huge margin of 96 runs in the final held at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium.

This victory helped India secure their third T20 World Cup title and also become the first team in history to successfully defend the T20 World Cup crown.

BCCI Announces ₹131 Crore Reward for Team

The BCCI ₹131 Crore Reward was confirmed by BCCI Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia. According to the board, the reward will be distributed among the players, coaching staff, selectors, and support staff who played a crucial role in India’s unbeaten campaign during the tournament.

The BCCI ₹131 Crore Reward is even higher than the ₹125 crore prize that was given to the Indian squad after their previous T20 World Cup victory in 2024. The board stated that the increase reflects the historic nature of this achievement, as India not only won the title again but also defended it successfully on home soil.

ICC Prize Money Adds to the Celebration

Apart from the BCCI ₹131 Crore Reward, the team also received prize money from the International Cricket Council. By winning the final, India secured USD 2.34 million (around ₹21.5 crore) as the official tournament prize.

Meanwhile, runners-up New Zealand received USD 1.17 million (approximately ₹10.75 crore) for finishing second in the tournament.

Star Performances in the Final

India’s historic win was powered by outstanding performances from several players. Wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson was named Player of the Tournament after scoring 321 runs in the competition, including a brilliant 89-run knock in the final that helped India post a massive total of 255/5.

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah delivered a sensational bowling spell, taking 4 wickets for 14 runs, which earned him the Player of the Match award in the final.

A Historic Achievement for Indian Cricket

The BCCI ₹131 Crore Reward highlights the board’s recognition of the team’s remarkable achievement. Winning back-to-back T20 World Cups has strengthened India’s dominance in white-ball cricket and added another glorious chapter to the nation’s cricketing history.

For the India national cricket team, the BCCI ₹131 Crore Reward is not just about the financial prize but also a symbol of appreciation for a historic victory that will be remembered by fans for years to come.
