Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan suffered serious injuries after a criminal attacked

Early on January 16, 2025, an intruder attacked 54-year-old Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his home in Mumbai. Around 2:30 in the morning, the incident took place.          Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan suffered serious injuries after a criminal attacked him six times at his home in the Bandra neighborhood of Mumbai early on Thursday.                  The event happened when the accused tried to break into Mr. Khan’s home. Mr. Khan, who is receiving treatment at Lilavati Hospital, was declared “out of danger” by medical professionals. “A 2.5-inch piece of knife was removed from the spine,” stated Dr. Niraj Uttamani, the hospital’s chief operating officer.

A female employee who was in the apartment at the time of the conflict was also hurt. After the incident, the criminal left the area. The culprit has been recognized by Mumbai Police, and a manhunt has been launched. Dikshit Gedam, the deputy commissioner of police, said the person entered Khan’s home with the purpose to commit burglary.     According to a police officer, an initial investigation into the event revealed that the intruder may have went in earlier in the evening rather than forcing his way into the actor’s apartment on the 12th level of the Satguru Sharan building.   Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, Khan’s wife, and their kids were apparently at home when the event happened, however they were unharmed. As the police continue their inquiry, Kareena Kapoor Khan has asked for privacy while reassuring the public that the family is doing well.

The attack led to a political debate; NCP (SP) chairman Sharad Pawar said the knife attack showed how the state of law and order in Maharashtra was developing.

This incident started conversations about the necessity for stronger security measures in neighborhoods where public people reside and highlighted worries about the safety and security of celebrities in Mumbai  and show that even celebrities are not safe in the state, and that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who oversees the home ministry, has failed to maintain peace and order, according to several other opposition leaders.

“Unfortunate” is how Mr. Fadnavis described the incident, but he added it is incorrect to label the city as unsafe.
