Premanand Maharaj’s Health Concerns Lead to Suspension of Padyatra

The serene lanes of Vrindavan have fallen silent after the daily padyatra of revered saint Premanand Maharaj was suspended indefinitely due to his deteriorating health. The announcement came from the Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram, where Maharaj leads his spiritual teachings and discourses.

The ashram issued an official statement urging devotees not to wait along his usual route and instead offer prayers for his recovery. The notice stated that Maharaj’s health had worsened over the past few days, making it difficult for him to continue his daily walk.

Premanand Maharaj, known for his deep devotion and philosophical simplicity, resides at the Sri Krishna Sharanam Society in Vrindavan. For years, he has begun his spiritual journey at 4 a.m., walking from his residence to the Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram, followed by hundreds of devotees who seek his blessings.

A Sacred Routine Interrupted

The saint’s early morning padyatra had become a daily ritual for thousands. Every dawn, devotees lined the streets, decorating the path with flowers and vibrant rangoli designs. Many arrived hours in advance, eager for a glimpse of the revered figure whose teachings emphasize divine love and simplicity.

However, over the past two days, Maharaj was unable to appear for his morning walk. Confusion spread among devotees who continued to wait along the route. To prevent crowding and maintain calm, the ashram authorities decided to suspend the procession indefinitely.

According to sources, Premanand Maharaj has been battling kidney-related ailments and is undergoing regular dialysis. The health setback has made it difficult for him to maintain his usual routine, prompting the ashram to prioritize his well-being over ritual continuity.

Devotees Pray for His Recovery

The news of the suspension has deeply affected his followers, both in India and abroad. Social media platforms were flooded with messages of concern and prayers. Many devotees expressed emotional appeals for his quick recovery, calling him a guiding light of modern spirituality.

The ashram’s spokesperson appealed to devotees to remain calm and continue their prayers from home. “Maharaj Ji’s health is our top priority. We request everyone to keep him in their thoughts and refrain from assembling on his usual route,” the statement read.

This is not the first time the saint’s padyatra has been interrupted due to health reasons. In previous instances, the procession resumed after his recovery, often drawing even larger gatherings upon his return.

Global Influence and Celebrity Devotees

Premanand Maharaj commands a global following through his teachings, discourses, and devotional messages, which are widely shared online. His focus on Bhakti, self-realization, and compassion resonates with people of all ages.

Several well-known figures have visited the Keli Kunj Ashram to seek his blessings. Among them are cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, along with actress Shilpa Shetty, actor Ashutosh Rana, and devotional singers Hansraj Raghuvanshi and Kanhaiya Mittal. Their visits reflect Maharaj’s far-reaching spiritual influence that transcends religious and social boundaries.

His daily padyatra symbolized humility, devotion, and connection with the people—a ritual now on hold as his followers collectively pray for his health and swift recovery.
