Rahul Dravid, Team India’s previous head coach, is expected to return to lead the Rajasthan Royals, according to sources

“Talks are going on between RR and Dravid, and an announcement in this regard is round the corner,” SOURCES

The 51-year-old has a lengthy history with RR, having captained the team to the Champions League T20 final and IPL playoffs in 2013, before taking on the position of mentor in 2014 and 2015, when they placed third in the IPL.

Dravid has been connected with the BCCI since 2015, first as the head coach of the India U-19 and India ‘A’ teams, then as the chairman of the NCA, and ultimately as the head coach of the senior squad beginning October 2021.
It’s unclear whether the organization will retain Kumar Sangakkara, who has been the Royals’ director of cricket since 2021 or relieve him once Dravid comes on board.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka is enlisting the assistance of an Indian expert to prepare for the white-ball series against India.

Zubin Bharucha, the Royals’ high-performance director, is now conducting a week-long ‘batting master class’ for Sri Lankan players in Colombo, which concludes on Tuesday.

Bharucha is well-known for his tough batsman training methods, which have contributed significantly to the growth of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel.
