On January 22, 2025, during his visit to the School of Eminence in SAS Nagar (Mohali), Minister Harjot Singh Bains revealed the details of the upcoming training program. Accompanied by experts from the University of Turku, including Mr. Ari Kioski, Mr. Joel, Ms. Mirjami Einola, and Ms. Sari Isokytö-Sinjoi, the minister highlighted the significant role that Finland’s educational model will play in shaping the future of primary education in Punjab.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Punjab Government and the University of Turku, marking the beginning of this collaboration. The three-week training program is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, consisting of one week of training in Punjab, followed by two weeks in Finland.
