Panchayat’s Faisal Malik Opens Up About Cast Payments and Salary Hikes in TVF’s Hit Series

Faisal Malik Sheds Light on Panchayat Cast’s Salary Structure and Increments

Over the years, Panchayat has emerged as one of India’s most heartwarming and critically loved web series. With four seasons successfully capturing the simplicity and depth of rural India, fans are eagerly awaiting Season 5. But beyond the compelling story and stellar performances, there’s growing curiosity about the behind-the-scenes workings—particularly how the show’s talented cast is compensated.

“Sab Acha Hai”: Faisal Malik on His Earnings

In a recent episode of The Raunac Podcast, actor Faisal Malik—who plays the soft-spoken and loyal Prahlad Cha—opened up about the topic. While he didn’t disclose exact figures, Faisal reassured fans by saying, Sab acha hai” (everything’s good), suggesting he’s happy with his pay.

Payment Process Explained

Faisal detailed how actors on the show are paid, shedding light on the structured approach often followed by production houses. “Payments happen in various ways,” he said. “Some actors are paid per day, others receive a lump sum. These days, corporate-style structures are common.”

He broke down the process further: “The payment is split into five segments—one at signing, then at the start of the shoot, midway through, at the end of the shoot, after dubbing, and finally, post-release. So the final payment often comes only after the show is released.”

This system, according to Faisal, can stretch the income timeline over a full year.

  • Naturally, with the show’s popularity soaring season after season, one might assume the actors get a salary bump. However, Faisal clarified that success alone doesn’t automatically translate to a pay hike.

“They only increase your fees if you’ve had that written into your contract. The performance of the show doesn’t really change anything. I had included that clause in my contract,” he shared, again concluding with his signature line, “Sab acha hai.”

About Panchayat

Created by The Viral Fever (TVF), Panchayat follows the story of Abhishek Tripathi (played by Jitendra Kumar), an engineering graduate who ends up working as the secretary of a panchayat office in the fictional village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh. Through its grounded storytelling, charming characters, and emotional arcs, the series has struck a chord with audiences across generations.

With anticipation building for Season 5, it’s clear that both the performances and the production dynamics behind Panchayat continue to engage and intrigue fans.
