In Wake of Panchayat Elections, 15 October Announced As Gazetted Holiday in Punjab

Chandigarh, October 9

The Punjab Government has declared a gazetted holiday across the state on Tuesday, October 15, in observance of the General Elections to Gram Panchayats. This holiday is also recognized under the Negotiable Instruments Act-1881.

An official spokesperson for the Punjab Government disclosed this information today, emphasizing that the holiday will also apply to all the government offices, boards, corporations, and educational institutions of the state of Punjab, located in Chandigarh.
