More than 200 former Lok Sabha MPs who have not yet moved out of their official bungalows in Lutyens’ Delhi have received eviction notices, according to sources in the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry. The sources added that other former MPs are presently receiving notices, and that this procedure is ongoing.
“Eviction warnings for overstaying have been sent to over 200 former MPs thus far. They are requested to leave their official bungalows as soon as possible. Notifications are being sent to more former MPs, according to the sources.
If they don’t leave, they will be evicted with force.
The sources stated that teams of officials will be sent for “forceful eviction” shortly if they do not leave their official quarters as soon as possible.

If former ministers and MPs do not leave their official bungalows within the allotted time, eviction procedures are initiated.
Former union minister not given a notice of removal
A source claims that the home at 83 Lodhi Estate, which was formerly occupied by a former central information commissioner, has been assigned to Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
The insider added that no former Union minister has yet to get an eviction notice due to overstaying. Over four former Union ministers—among them Smriti Irani—have already left their government residences in Lutyens’ Delhi.
A few weeks after losing to Congress leader Kishori Lal Sharma in the Amethi parliamentary seat by a margin of more than 1.5 lakh votes, Irani moved out of her official home at 28 Tughlak Crescent.
