On Monday, a 45-year-old lady was murdered, and 24 other passengers were injured when their electric bus collided with a metro pillar in West Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh district.
Vichitra Veer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), stated that at around 7.42 a.m., the Punjabi Bagh Police Station received a PCR report about a bus collision near Shivaji Park on Rohtak Road.
The agencies involved reacted to the call, and when they arrived, they discovered that an electric bus traveling between Mongolpuri and Anand Vihar had collided with a metro pillar nearby.
As the bus driver engaged the brakes abruptly, an auto-rickshaw collided with the larger vehicle from behind.
According to the authorities, the woman was slain, and a 55-year-old man is in critical condition.
According to the police, 14 of the 24 injured passengers were transferred to Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, while the remaining ten were taken to Acharya Bhikshu.
A police officer stated that a charge of rash driving and causing death by negligence of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been filed, a crime squad has been dispatched to the scene, and forensic samples are being collected.
The officer also stated that a mechanical inspection of the vehicle is underway.
