Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Major Projects in Buxar, Boosting Local Development

Nitish Kumar Launches Major Development Projects in Buxar During Pragati Yatra

Buxar, Bihar – Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ongoing Pragati Yatra continues to bring significant changes to local infrastructure. On Saturday, CM Kumar visited Buxar and inaugurated several major developmental projects aimed at improving the region’s utilities, transportation, and tourism. His visit focused on projects worth crores that have been long-awaited by the residents of Buxar.

Among the most notable initiatives was the inauguration of the long-pending multi-village water supply scheme in Keshopur, a project that had been stalled for 15 years. This critical infrastructure is expected to provide reliable access to clean water across multiple villages, addressing a longstanding challenge for the region.

In addition to the water scheme, CM Kumar remotely inaugurated the Nikrish Pump Canal in Chausa block. This initiative is expected to improve irrigation facilities, benefiting local farmers and promoting agriculture in the area. The CM also laid the foundation for a railway overbridge near Raghunathpur railway station, a project aimed at easing transportation in the region and reducing traffic congestion.

Another highlight of the visit was the launch of a light and sound show building at Buxar’s historic Ramrekhaghat. This project, part of the district’s tourism development efforts, is set to attract visitors and enhance the region’s cultural appeal. Moreover, Kumar laid the foundation stone for the Vishwamitra Tourist Hotel at Buxar Golambar, another move to boost tourism in the area and support the local economy.

Pragati Yatra: A Pathway to Progress

CM Nitish Kumar’s Pragati Yatra is a statewide initiative designed to foster development and directly address the needs of Bihar’s rural communities. Kumar has been touring various districts daily, inaugurating projects, reviewing progress, and engaging with locals to ensure their concerns are heard. His visit to Buxar is just one stop in his broader effort to promote governance and accountability.

Following the inaugurations, Kumar proceeded to the Buxar Collectorate to hold a meeting with senior officials. During this review session, he focused on monitoring the progress of ongoing government projects and addressing any local challenges. The CM’s proactive approach is aimed at ensuring that development work is executed smoothly and efficiently across Bihar.

The district administration had made extensive security arrangements for the CM’s visit. The District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) held a joint meeting with police officers and magistrates on Friday to ensure tight security measures during Kumar’s stay, ensuring a peaceful and successful visit.

Bihar’s Expanding Development Initiatives

CM Kumar’s development push is not limited to Buxar. Earlier this week, the Bihar CM also inaugurated and laid the foundation for over 230 projects across Arwal and Jehanabad districts. These projects, worth ₹352 crore, are part of his broader vision for infrastructural and social development in Bihar.

In Arwal, Kumar inaugurated 114 projects valued at ₹111 crore, which included a newly-constructed sluice gate in Mahavirganj village, several public facilities, and the renovation of key religious and cultural sites. The state’s flagship Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan program also saw significant progress with the development of water-related infrastructure such as ponds and Chhath Ghats, benefiting local communities.

In Jehanabad, 116 projects worth ₹241 crore were launched, focusing on educational and healthcare infrastructure. The CM inaugurated the new government OBC residential girls’ senior secondary school in Dharhara and a newly upgraded senior secondary school with a playground in Kazisarai Village. These efforts are designed to improve access to quality education and healthcare for the region’s residents.

Boosting Tourism and Local Economy

Kumar’s focus on tourism development is particularly evident in his support for projects like the Vishwamitra Tourist Hotel and the Ramrekhaghat light and sound show. These initiatives are part of a larger strategy to position Bihar as a key tourist destination, which could boost the local economy by attracting more visitors and creating jobs in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

By laying the foundation for these tourism-related projects, the CM aims to highlight Buxar’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. This initiative not only promotes tourism but also aligns with broader efforts to revitalize Bihar’s economy through sustainable and community-driven growth.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Buxar?

The positive outcomes from Nitish Kumar’s Pragati Yatra in Buxar are expected to extend beyond infrastructure. The CM’s focus on improving basic amenities like water supply and transportation, along with his investment in tourism, promises long-term benefits for the district’s residents. These projects are not only expected to improve daily life but also attract investment, creating a ripple effect that could lead to more development in the region.

As CM Kumar continues his statewide tour, his pragmatic approach to governance is setting a clear roadmap for Bihar’s future. With Buxar’s infrastructural landscape now significantly enhanced, other districts can look forward to similar progress in the near future.
