However, the rules do provide a 70-minute window for users to top up their FASTag balance before crossing the toll plaza. For those who top up their FASTag balance within 10 minutes of scanning at the toll gate, there is a provision to request a refund of any fines incurred due to low balance or incorrect blacklist status.
In cases where toll transactions take more than 15 minutes to process after a vehicle has passed through the toll barrier, the new rules also mandate an additional penalty. These changes are intended to ensure smoother processing times and prevent delays in the toll collection process.
