Transport Minister lends sympathetic ear to the demands of Truck Operators, promises to promote their business

Chandigarh, February 15: Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar today said that strict action will be taken against overloaded vehicles, and trucks illegally entering from other states.

After sympathetically listening to the demands of the truck operators at his office here, the Transport Minister directed the department officials to impound trucks violating the norms.

He reiterated that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government is committed to promoting the trucking business in the state and resolving their issues. He assured that the government is creating employment opportunities in the state, thus more opportunities will also be created for their business.

He also asked to speeding up work related to the trucking business in the district offices of the department, instructing fixing time limits for each task to alleviate people’s concerns.

S. Laljit Singh Bhullar assured that other legitimate demands of the truck operators would also be sympathetically considered.

Secretary Transport Mr. Dilraj Singh Sandhawalia, Additional State Transport Commissioner Mr. Sukhwinder Kumar, Deputy State Transport Commissioner Mr. Manjit Singh and other officials were present in the meeting.
