Kejriwal Attacks BJP’s Delhi Manifesto, Calls it a Copy of AAP’s Welfare Plans

In a direct attack on the BJP’s Delhi election manifesto, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), called out the saffron party for what he described as a lack of vision for the city. Kejriwal specifically criticized the BJP for adopting similar welfare schemes to those already implemented by AAP, particularly focusing on the issue of free handouts, which Kejriwal had long championed.

The BJP’s manifesto, unveiled by party president JP Nadda, includes promises such as monetary allowances for women and free LPG cylinder schemes, which Kejriwal believes are mere imitations of AAP’s initiatives. In his criticism, Kejriwal also pointed out the contradiction in the BJP’s stance on free services, accusing them of abandoning their earlier claims that such handouts were detrimental to the country.

BJP’s Freebies: Acknowledging AAP’s Success?

The Delhi elections have always been a battleground for political parties to showcase their welfare initiatives. In the latest round of political warfare, Kejriwal demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi publicly accept that providing free services like those in AAP’s manifesto is not a bad thing. He stated that the BJP had often criticized his party for offering “revris” (freebies), but now, BJP leaders have proposed similar schemes, which, according to Kejriwal, signals a shift in their approach.

“I want to say that they should acknowledge that the PM was not right when he criticized us,” Kejriwal remarked, pointing out that the BJP’s latest manifesto echoed AAP’s successful programs. Kejriwal added, “Free handouts are gifts from God and good for the country.”

BJP Lacks Vision for Delhi, Claims Kejriwal

Kejriwal also took aim at the BJP for lacking any original plans or a clear vision for Delhi’s development. He accused the party of repeating its promises from previous years and not addressing the key issues affecting the city, particularly law and order.

“When you want to do the work that Kejriwal has already done and is continuing, what is the need for having the BJP do his work?” Kejriwal questioned, emphasizing that the BJP should not be allowed to claim credit for AAP’s welfare-focused governance. He criticized the BJP for copying AAP’s manifesto, stating that their entire agenda for Delhi was based on AAP’s already implemented schemes.

No Vision on Law and Order: Kejriwal Calls BJP’s Manifesto Empty

A key point of criticism from Kejriwal was the BJP’s lack of vision for law and order in Delhi. He stated that despite the BJP being the ruling party at the Centre, which holds responsibility for law and order in the national capital, the issue has continued to deteriorate under their governance.

“Nothing can be more unfortunate than a party not having a vision for the national capital,” Kejriwal remarked. He emphasized that the BJP’s manifesto failed to propose any substantial reforms or plans to address the growing concerns around safety and public security in the city. In contrast, AAP’s track record on improving public services like free bus rides and healthcare stood in stark contrast to the BJP’s empty promises, Kejriwal argued.

Criticism of BJP’s Empty Promises

Kejriwal did not mince words when labeling the BJP’s manifesto as a “box full of lies.” He pointed out that the BJP’s repeated pledges to build houses in slums and improve conditions in the capital were unfulfilled promises from previous years.

“Why not make bigger announcements when there is no intent to fulfill them?” Kejriwal added sarcastically, accusing the BJP of deliberately deceiving the public with grand promises they knew they would not be able to deliver. Kejriwal urged the voters of Delhi to see through the empty rhetoric of the BJP and recognize that AAP’s actions and achievements spoke louder than the BJP’s election-time pledges.

AAP’s Record Versus BJP’s Proposals

In contrast to the BJP’s latest manifesto, AAP has long been committed to welfare schemes that benefit the common people of Delhi. Some of AAP’s key initiatives include free electricity, free bus rides for women, and improved healthcare access. These schemes have been at the core of AAP’s success in Delhi, earning them significant support in previous elections.

Kejriwal challenged the BJP to address the core issues affecting the common people of Delhi, such as housing, education, healthcare, and public transport, areas where AAP has made significant strides.

Conclusion: AAP’s Clear Vision for Delhi vs BJP’s Lack of Substance

As the Delhi 2025 elections approach, the political battle between the BJP and AAP intensifies. Arvind Kejriwal continues to highlight the discrepancies in the BJP’s manifesto, accusing the saffron party of copying AAP’s successful welfare programs without offering any original vision for Delhi’s future. Kejriwal’s insistence that free handouts are beneficial for the people and should not be demonized adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing debate around welfare policies.

Voters will now have to decide whether they want to continue with AAP’s proven governance model, which includes comprehensive social welfare initiatives, or whether they believe the BJP can bring a new vision to the national capital, despite lacking any substantial plans in their manifesto.
