Renowned industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple is making changes to its iPhone portfolio.

Kuo recently stated in an analyst letter that beginning the following year, Apple will stop producing its “Plus” model, which is presently represented by the iPhone 14 Plus.

The iPhone 17 Slim, which aims to achieve an exceptionally thin profile and may even surpass the sleek form of the most recent iPad Pro, will take its place.

The main reason for the iPhone Plus’s termination, according to Kuo, is the device’s dismal sales data, which indicate that it only makes up 5% to 10% of iPhone shipments.

However, there is a startling twist to this change in approach. Kuo claims that the iPhone 17 Slim will only have one back camera.

This defies the trend of smartphones having progressively more intricate camera systems, but Kuo thinks Apple is putting more emphasis on “innovative form factor design” than “competing on hardware specifications” with this specific model.

Although the specifications of the iPhone 17 Slim are still unknown, Kuo’s letter provides some possible information:

Display: 1260×2740 pixels on a 6.6-inch screen.

This bold move by Apple could be a gamble, but it also has the potential to pay off. If the iPhone 17 Slim captures even 15% of new iPhone sales, it would easily outpace its predecessor.
