Speaking at the AIIMS Rishikesh Convocation 2026, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan said that graduation marks not just academic completion but the beginning of a greater responsibility towards society and the nation. He urged students to dedicate themselves to medical service with purpose, empathy, and integrity.
He also reflected on India’s resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting that the country successfully managed one of the world’s largest vaccination drives under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ensuring free vaccines for over 140 crore citizens.

During the AIIMS Rishikesh Convocation 2026 address, the Vice President emphasized India’s global humanitarian contribution through the Vaccine Maitri initiative, under which vaccines were supplied to over 100 countries.
He noted that this initiative reflects the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and showcases India’s commitment as a responsible global healthcare partner.

Highlighting developments in the healthcare sector, the Vice President stated that the establishment of new AIIMS institutions across India has significantly improved access to quality healthcare and medical education.
At the AIIMS Rishikesh Convocation 2026, he praised the institute for combining clinical care, research, innovation, and social responsibility, calling it a model institution in the country.
Innovation in Healthcare at AIIMS Rishikesh
The Vice President appreciated innovative healthcare initiatives at AIIMS Rishikesh, including telemedicine services, helicopter emergency medical services, and drone-based delivery of medicines in remote and high-altitude regions such as during the Char Dham Yatra.
