Trump praises PM Modi during a major event held in Delhi marking the 250th anniversary celebrations of the American Declaration of Independence. The event was attended by US Ambassador Sergio Gor and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
During the programme, Sergio Gor received a live phone call from former US President Donald Trump, where he openly expressed admiration for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and highlighted strong India-US ties.
Trump praises PM Modi during live phone call
In the conversation, Donald Trump said that he wants Sergio Gor to represent the United States strongly and greeted everyone warmly. Repeating his admiration, Trump praises PM Modi by saying, “I really like Prime Minister Modi. Modi is great and he is my friend.”
He further added that India and the United States have never been closer than they are now and assured that India can fully trust the United States. According to Trump, if India needs any help, it knows exactly whom to call.

Continuing his remarks, Trump praises PM Modi once more while stating that the US economy and stock markets are performing at record levels. He said, “India gets whatever it wants. I am a big fan of Prime Minister Modi.”
Trump also praised US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, calling him one of the best foreign ministers in American history and appreciating his contribution to US diplomacy.

Invitation to PM Modi for White House visit
Reinforcing diplomatic warmth, Trump praises PM Modi and mentioned that it was an honour for him to speak with the Indian Prime Minister. He asked Sergio Gor to convey his greetings and reiterated that he is a strong admirer of PM Modi.
During the interaction, it was also conveyed that Gor extended an invitation from Trump to PM Modi for a visit to the White House.
Strengthening India-US relations
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who recently visited India, stated that both countries are close to finalizing a bilateral trade agreement that will be beneficial, sustainable, and aligned with national interests.
He discussed strengthening cooperation in key areas such as trade, critical minerals, energy security, and defence with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
The visit comes amid recent changes in US immigration policy, raising concerns regarding legal immigrants and green card applicants.
Overall, the event highlighted growing diplomatic engagement between India and the United States, with Trump praises PM Modi becoming a key talking point following his strong public endorsement of the Indian Prime Minister.
