Visakhapatnam: The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, today witnessed the International Fleet Review 2026 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with participation from navies of over 70 countries.
Speaking at the event, the President Droupadi Murmu highlighted that the Fleet Review symbolizes unity, trust, and respect among nations for maritime traditions. She noted that ships flying different flags and sailors from diverse countries embody a spirit of togetherness, reflected in the theme of the review: “United Through Oceans.” This, she said, sends a positive message that collective naval strength can address global challenges.

President Droupadi Murmu emphasised that India’s approach to international relations, including the maritime domain, is guided by the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family). She said this approach underscores that global security, stability, and sustainable growth are achieved through partnerships. Highlighting India’s vision of MAHASAGAR—Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions—the President stressed that a sound maritime order depends on collective responsibility and cooperation among like-minded nations.

She praised the Indian Navy for its vigilance in safeguarding India’s maritime interests and contributing to regional stability. Indian naval units serve as credible instruments of deterrence and defense, respond swiftly during humanitarian crises and natural disasters, and foster goodwill through international cooperation.
