PMAY-G Beneficiaries to Get Job Cards, Rs 1.2 Lakh for Rural Housing

Over 2.71 Lakh Applicants Across 14 Blocks Await Job Cards and Wage Assistance Under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana

The Rural Development Department has announced that selected applicants under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana ( PMAY-G  will be issued job cards. Over 2.71 lakh people have applied for financial assistance to build permanent houses, and the verification process is nearing completion. Eligible applicants will receive job cards to access employment opportunities within their villages.

A survey was conducted under PMAY-G to identify homeless families in rural areas, and many families also applied through the Awas App. Across 14 blocks, a total of 2,71,182 applications were received. Verification of applicants’ housing status has been ongoing for the past two months.

Assistance Details:

  • Homeless families will receive Rs 1.20 lakh in three instalments for house construction.

  • Additional funds will be provided for labor wages and toilet construction.

  • Job cards will enable beneficiaries to access local employment opportunities.

Authorities aim to issue 100% of job cards to eligible residents by March. Minor delays occurred due to district and block staff being assigned other duties.

  • The scheme  PMAY-G is linked with MGNREGA, providing 90–95 person-days of unskilled labor for house construction.

  • A registered MGNREGA job card is mandatory to receive construction assistance.

  • Wages for labor are credited through job cards, adding around Rs 27,000 to total assistance.

  • Beneficiary registration on the AwaasSoft portal requires the MGNREGA job card number, Aadhaar number, and bank details.

  • Job cards list the head of household, category, workdays, and wages paid.

How to Check Job Card and Beneficiary Status:

  • Visit pmayg.nic.in → Navigate to Awaassoft → Click Report → Search under Beneficiary-related reports to verify job card linkage and house sanction status.

Required Documents to Link Job Card:

  • Aadhaar card

  • MGNREGA Job Card

  • Bank account details

  • Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) number
