Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting with members of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) to review the country’s economic outlook and discuss strategies to sustain momentum amid global uncertainties.

The discussions centered on strengthening India economic growth through policy measures aimed at improving resilience, boosting investment, and ensuring long-term stability in a volatile global environment.

Strong GDP Numbers Support India Economic Growth

The meeting came shortly after official data showed strong performance in the Indian economy. According to the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), GDP grew 7.8% in Q4 FY26, while full-year growth stood at 7.7%, compared to 7.1% in the previous fiscal year.

Officials noted that these figures reflect strong domestic demand and reinforce positive signals for India economic growth, even as global markets remain uncertain.

Reforms to Sustain India Economic Growth

During the discussions, the Prime Minister and EAC-PM members reviewed reforms aimed at improving ease of living and ease of doing business. These structural changes are seen as essential to sustaining India economic growth in the long run.

The council emphasized that continued reforms in taxation, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks will help maintain momentum and attract higher investment flows into the economy.

Global Challenges and Economic Risks

The meeting also assessed global risks, including geopolitical tensions in West Asia, and their potential impact on trade, energy markets, and supply chains.

Experts cautioned that external shocks could influence inflation and external stability, making it important to safeguard India economic growth through proactive policy measures.

EAC-PM’s Role in Supporting Growth Strategy

The Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, an independent advisory body, provides recommendations on macroeconomic policy and long-term planning.

Its inputs during the meeting focused on strengthening India economic growth by improving competitiveness, productivity, and resilience against global volatility.

The high-level review highlighted the government’s continued focus on sustaining strong economic momentum. With robust GDP data and ongoing reforms, India economic growth remains on a positive trajectory despite global challenges, according to officials and experts involved in the discussions.
