Mathura, Uttar Pradesh: On the initiative of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, the country’s first national-level Cow Culture Museum will be set up on the campus of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Science University in Mathura. Officials confirmed that the land for the project has already been selected.

Cow Culture Museum to Showcase Cultural, Spiritual, and Scientific Significance of Cows

Agra Divisional Commissioner Nagendra Pratap said the museum will highlight the religious, cultural, and spiritual importance of cattle while also demonstrating their scientific utility and the benefits of their products. “This confluence of tradition and science will promote a holistic understanding of cow conservation,” he added.

Site Inspection and Planning

On February 14, 2026, senior officials, including Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad Vice-President Shailajakant Mishra, District Magistrate CP Singh, Mathura-Vrindavan Development Authority Vice President Lakshmi N, CEO Suraj Patel, Environmental Advisor Mukesh Sharma, and Dr. Amit Shukla from the veterinary university, inspected the proposed site and discussed project plans.

Exhibits and Attractions

The Cow Culture Museum will feature around 100 digital and symbolic models of cattle, representing major Indian breeds as well as endangered species, offering visitors a comprehensive understanding of India’s cow heritage. A special exhibition will focus on cow milk and its products—including milk, curd, cheese, and ghee—highlighting their scientific, nutritional, and Ayurvedic benefits through modern display techniques.

Additionally, a dairy parlour will be established on-site to provide visitors with pure dairy products.

Promoting Cow Conservation and Cultural Heritage

Officials emphasized that the museum will highlight the cow’s spiritual significance in Indian culture, portraying it as a “mother” in the Sanatan tradition. The project will demonstrate that cow conservation is intertwined with religious values, virtuous lifestyles, and public welfare—not merely an economic or agricultural concern.

Following directives from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this Cow Culture Museum is expected to enhance the cultural identity of the Braj region and serve as a milestone for promoting a cow-based economy with scientific and sustainable practices.
