Cyber Crime Police Arrest 11 Syndicate Members Following Financial Investigation Into Fraudulent Law Enforcement Video Calls

by News Desk

Cyber Syndicate Targeted Retired Senior Scientist

The Digital Arrest Scam reached a major investigative breakthrough as law enforcement officers arrested 11 members of an organized cybercrime syndicate. The arrests followed a complaint filed by Pradeep Kumar Das, a retired scientist and former Director in the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, who was defrauded of ₹1.25 crore.

The fraudsters subjected the victim to prolonged isolation through deceptive video calls, posing as senior officers from law enforcement agencies. Posing as officials investigating international money laundering, the perpetrators forced the victim into transfering his life savings into designated “mule” bank accounts under the guise of official verification.
