Dhaka: Reaz Hamidullah, the Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, returned in Dhaka overnight after receiving a “urgent call” from the foreign ministry amid tense bilateral relations, according to sources late Monday.
Prothom Alo, a mass-circulation daily, stated that Bangladesh High Commissioner in New Delhi M Reaz Hamidullah was summoned to Dhaka immediately due to the recent state of bilateral relations with India.

In response to the call, Hamidullah arrived in Dhaka on Monday evening, the daily reported, citing an unidentified “responsible source” in the foreign office.
“He has been summoned to Dhaka for discussions on the recent situation of bilateral relations,” added the report.
