Asaduddin Owaisi, President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), on Thursday said that India cannot become a “Vishwaguru” unless Muslims receive justice. He said AIMIM aims to strengthen democracy and reinforce public faith in the Constitution. Referring to B. R. Ambedkar, Owaisi stated that the values of liberty, equality, justice, and fraternity would remain mere words unless minorities develop their own leadership. Responds to Allegations of Aiding BJP
Rejecting claims that AIMIM indirectly benefits the BJP, Owaisi cited examples from Assam and Tamil Nadu. He said the party has supported regional forces rather than weakening them.
He added that AIMIM campaigned for Badruddin Ajmal’s party in Assam and backed the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu to counter the BJP’s influence.
Criticises PM Modi and Central Laws
Targeting Narendra Modi, Owaisi said several laws introduced since 2014 are discriminatory. He criticised the Citizenship Amendment Act, stating that it grants citizenship based on religion, which he claims is against constitutional principles.
He also termed the Triple Talaq law flawed, alleging it has led to increased harassment of Muslim women. Additionally, Owaisi criticised “bulldozer actions” carried out by the BJP government in Gujarat.
Addressing the public, he questioned what would be gained from demolishing homes and mosques, asserting that India will be governed by Ambedkar’s Constitution, not by “bulldozers.” He warned that power is not permanent and urged humility—reiterating themes central to the Asaduddin Owaisi Statement on India.
