Expansion of NCC for discipline among school students in the state
School Education Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh states in the State Level Advisory Committee meeting
Minister Shri Singh said that the cadets of Madhya Pradesh have made the state proud by giving an outstanding performance at the national and state levels. He said that the state government will extend every possible support for the development of the proposed NCC Academy in Madhya Pradesh. Secretary of School Education Dr. Sanjay Goyal said that efforts will be speeded up for the construction of the academy building. In the meeting, Major General Ajay Mahajan told that at present there are 77 thousand cadets in the state. The capacity will be increased to 20 thousand 320 cadets in the coming 3 years.
Proposed NCC Academy
It was informed in the meeting that the state government has allotted 20 acres of land in Samasgarh village of Bhopal for the NCC Academy. The design of the academy building will be prepared by EPCO. In Jabalpur, 40 acres of land have been allotted in Umaria village of Panagar tehsil. Land has also been obtained for the academy in Sagar. After the construction of the building, the process of drill training besides personality development will be conducted for the selected cadets in these academies. Shooting ranges will also be arranged in these academies.
Hike in prize money
It was told in the meeting that a hike has been proposed in the incentive for the best-performing candidates. The incentive amount is to be increased from Rs 12 lakh 34 thousand to Rs 25 lakh. The 33rd battalion of NCC is under technical education and skill development in Sagar and Jabalpur. Reorganizing this, it is to be transferred to the NCC Directorate, Bhopal. Approval on this will be taken from the state government soon in a meeting. Discussion was also held on the filling of vacant posts in the meeting.
