State government is committed to a pollution and plastic free state -Campaign to eliminate plastic carry bags is continuing – The target of making every home free from plastic carry bags.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, a massive awareness campaign is being run by the Pollution Control Board across the state to make the entire state pollution free and free from the use of single use plastic.

On one hand, while plantation work is being done on a large scale with the help of various departments, voluntary organizations and private organizations, to make every house free from plastic carry bags, the officials of the Board are going door to door and not only motivating people not to use single use plastic items but also distributing cloth bags and taking an oath not to use plastic carry bags.

 

Member Secretary of the State Pollution Control Board, Shri N Vijay said that the state is moving ahead in order to realize the concept of a pollution free state of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma and meaningful efforts are being made at the ground level to reduce the use of single use plastic and plastic carry bags to a minimum.

He said that along with office work and making rules and regulations, it is our fundamental responsibility to reach them to every person in the society, under which the officers and employees of the Board are taking this campaign from house to house and distributing cloth bags and taking oath to not use plastic carry bags.

He said that every possible effort is being made at every level to realize the broad and far-reaching thinking of the Chief Minister of a pollution and plastic free state.

 

-Every person should have a cloth bag

 

The Member Secretary said that the only objective of this campaign of distributing cloth bags by all the officers and employees of the Board by going door to door is that every citizen of the state should be seen carrying a cloth bag instead of a plastic carry bag and only cloth bags should be used in business institutions and shops.

He said that efforts will be made to continue this campaign of the Board till every person gets a cloth bag in his hand. He thanked all the public and private institutions involved in this campaign and said that everyone’s role is an important part of this campaign.

 

During this, under the leadership of Superintendent Scientific Officer Mrs. Neha Agarwal, cloth bags were distributed in the residential society located in Jagatpura and people were sworn in to not use plastic carry bags, to manage waste properly and to protect the environment.

During this, the senior members of the society present appreciated the campaign being run by the Board and said that they will ensure that the message of the Board’s pollution-free state reaches other people on priority.
