Shahid Kapoor intense performances continue to captivate audiences, long after the release of Kabir Singh. As he gears up for Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film O’Romeo, fans have again speculated about connections between his previous roles and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s cinematic universe. Adding to the buzz, Shahid recently revealed that a crossover between Kabir Singh and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal was once discussed but ultimately never came to fruition.
Why Kabir Singh Didn’t Appear in Animal
While promoting O’Romeo, Shahid addressed fan theories about a potential Kabir Singh-Animal crossover. In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, he confirmed that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had approached him to include a brief scene featuring Kabir Singh in Animal.
Shahid Kapoor explained, “When Animal was in production, Sandeep had wanted one scene with Kabir Singh, but it couldn’t happen. There were date conflicts and other logistical issues. So the idea remained just a thought.”

Future Crossovers Remain Vanga’s Decision
When asked if such a crossover could happen in the future, Shahid clarified that it would be entirely up to the filmmaker. “Both characters belong to him, and it’s his world. Whatever he wants to do with it, he will decide.”
Both Kabir Singh (2019), starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, and Animal (2023), featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri, were massive box-office hits, while also sparking discussions about their themes and storytelling.
