Filmmaker Farah Khan recently visited YouTuber and podcast host Ranveer Allahbadia at his residence for her latest vlog, accompanied by her house help, Dilip. During the visit, Farah gave viewers a tour of Ranveer’s home, revealing that nearly a quarter of the space is dedicated to his professional studio, while the rest functions as his living area. The vlog also featured several light-hearted and entertaining exchanges between Ranveer and Dilip.

Ranveer Allahbadia Reflects on ‘India’s Got Latent’ Controversy

During their conversation, Ranveer Allahbadia addressed the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina. Referring to the episode as a “kaand” (incident), he confirmed that it took place in the same house. Despite the setback, he described the home as fortunate, saying it has played an important role in shaping his career.

Ranveer Allahbadia shared that his podcast had to be paused following the controversy. He spoke about the emotional and professional toll it took on him, saying he simply hoped to regain the opportunity to work, as he and his team were unable to shoot new content during that period.

Farah offered words of encouragement, advising him to treat failure as a learning experience and to grow stronger from it. Ranveer revealed that actor John Abraham had also reached out to him with similar advice. According to Ranveer, John personally called him and reassured him that such challenges are not uncommon in the media industry, urging him to stay composed and focused.

Support from Friends and Industry Peers

Ranveer Allahbadia also mentioned receiving support from several well-known personalities during the difficult phase, including Sonu Nigam, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Reflecting on the episode, he acknowledged that while he could not change what had happened, he could work toward improving the future. After an intense six-year journey in podcasting, the controversy resulted in an unexpected break. He added that he has been trying to move forward, forgive others involved, and even forgive himself — a process he believes has been partly successful.

What Triggered the Backlash

Ranveer Allahbadia , along with Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Mukhija, appeared as panelists on Samay Raina’s show. After the episode premiered on YouTube, viewers criticized Ranveer for asking an inappropriate and provocative question to a contestant.

Attempting to align with the show’s dark humour format, he posed a question that many found offensive, which quickly sparked backlash online.

Following the controversy, Ranveer Allahbadia issued a public apology and was temporarily restricted from uploading new content. However, in March, the Supreme Court of India allowed him to resume his podcast, The Ranveer Show, marking his return to content creation.
