Kim Soo Hyun’s agency accuses Kim Sae Ron’s alleged voice clip of being AI-generated and threatens legal action.

In a dramatic turn of events that has stirred fans and media alike, actor Kim Soo Hyun ’s agency, GOLDMEDALIST, has strongly denied the authenticity of a recent voice recording said to involve the late actress Kim Sae Ron, calling it a “complete fabrication” created using artificial intelligence.

The controversy began when a YouTube channel called HoverLab, in collaboration with Kim Sae Ron’s family, held a second press conference and played an audio clip claiming it featured the late actress speaking about Kim Soo Hyun.

However, GOLDMEDALIST isn’t buying it.

Agency’s Firm Denial: “It’s AI, Not Her Voice”

In an official statement, the agency stated that after a thorough internal review, they are convinced the voice recording is not real. They believe it was created using AI or voice-cloning technology, a growing concern in today’s digital age.

“The audio file does not reflect the real voice of Kim Sae Ron and is not tied to any known conversation or factual event,” GOLDMEDALIST said.

According to the agency, the individual who initially presented the clip had claimed the recording painted Kim Soo Hyun in a positive light. But upon further investigation, they found no proven connection between this person and the late actress.

Turning to HoverLab After Rejection

After failing to validate the recording’s authenticity with GOLDMEDALIST, the same individual allegedly teamed up with HoverLab and released the audio publicly during a press event.

GOLDMEDALIST called this move a deliberate and malicious act.

“HoverLab is cornered due to defamation, stalking, cyber-sex crimes, and evidence tampering. This so-called press conference is just another staged attack,” the agency’s statement read.

Raising the Alarm Over AI Misinformation

Beyond the immediate scandal, GOLDMEDALIST expressed broader concerns about the abuse of AI technology to spread fake content and manipulate public opinion.

“This is not just defamation. It’s character assassination using fabricated, AI-generated evidence,” said Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team, LKB & Partners Law Firm.

The agency believes this incident is part of a larger campaign to tarnish the actor’s image, calling it a “new and dangerous form of cybercrime.”

Legal Action Incoming

Not one to stay silent, GOLDMEDALIST has confirmed it will file criminal charges against all involved parties — including the original source of the audio and HoverLab.

They cited violations of the Stalking Punishment Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (Defamation), promising full cooperation with investigators to ensure accountability.

A forensic analysis of the audio clip is currently underway. Once complete, the agency has promised to share the findings to further prove the file’s inauthenticity.
