Ikkis earns ₹10.50 crore in two days despite Dhurandhar competition; Sriram Raghavan’s military drama praised for Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra’s last act.

Despite fierce competition, Sriram Raghavan’s military drama Ikkis, which debuted in theaters for the first time in 2026, is still doing well at the box office. The film, which starred Agastya Nanda and included Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia, and Dharmendra in his last appearance on screen, received positive reviews and a solid opening day reception.

Despite a decline in second-day receipts, the movie has managed to stay stable throughout its early theatrical run.

With these numbers, the movie’s total earnings after two days of release are at ₹10.50 crore. Trade analysts observe that although there is a considerable decline, the overall result is still respectable for a somber military drama with historical content.

Conflict with Dhurandhar Still Affects Screens

A major obstacle for Ikkis is the ongoing popularity of Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, which continues to attract viewers even after five weeks. A remarkable ₹745.63 crore was collected by Dhurandhar on its 29th day, according to reports.

Due to Dhurandhar’s prolonged performance, newer films like Ikkis have had less audience share and screen availability. In spite of this, Ikkis has succeeded in making a name for itself, especially with viewers who are drawn to biographical and patriotic stories.

Ikkis, which was directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films, is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest person to receive the Param Vir Chakra in India. The movie, which is set during the 1971 Indo-Pak combat, follows his development from a youthful officer-in-training to a decorated combat hero who, at the age of 21, made the ultimate sacrifice.

Dharmendra plays his father in what has been called his last act, while Agastya Nanda plays Khetarpal. A little more than a month before the movie’s premiere, the renowned actor departed away, giving the production and its reception more emotional weight.
