Gujarat Model Anjali Varmora Dies by Suicide After Posting Cryptic Reel
Surat, Gujarat | June 10, 2025 — In a deeply disturbing development, 23-year-old Gujarat-based model and social media influencer Anjali Varmora was found dead by suicide at her residence in Surat’s upscale Athwa locality on Sunday. According to police sources, the young model was discovered hanging inside her home, with no suicide note found at the scene.
Just a day before the tragic incident, Anjali posted a cryptic reel on Instagram, which read: “Today I realised I am nothing for you.” This reel, along with another emotionally charged post that stated “It doesn’t matter if everything is lost, but it hurts if love is lost”, is now being closely examined by police investigators for clues about her mental state and the events leading to her death.
Emotional Farewell on Social Media
Anjali Varmora had carved a niche for herself as a micro-influencer on Instagram, where she had over 37,000 followers. Known for her fashion and lifestyle reels, she was also active on YouTube, regularly posting vlogs that provided insights into her daily life and aspirations. Her sudden and unexpected death has left fans, friends, and family in shock.
“There was no suicide note recovered from the scene. We are treating the case with utmost sensitivity and exploring all digital traces for possible leads,” said a senior officer from Surat Police.
Police are now in the process of analyzing her mobile phone, social media messages, and call logs. Her family members are also being questioned to determine if she had shown signs of emotional distress or had spoken about any troubling developments in her life.

While authorities have refrained from confirming the exact cause, early indications suggest that Anjali may have been under intense mental stress, potentially related to personal relationships or cyberbullying. Anjali’s suicide comes barely a month after the death of 19-year-old aspiring model Sukhpreet Kaur, also from Surat. In that case, police arrested Mahendra Rajput, who was accused of blackmailing and mentally harassing the victim, leading to her death on May 3.
The back-to-back tragedies involving young women in the modeling and influencer space have sent shockwaves across Gujarat’s digital and creative communities, prompting calls for mental health awareness, safe online spaces, and institutional support.
