Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have been making headlines for months amid speculation about trouble in their marriage. Reports have suggested that the actor is allegedly involved with a newcomer, with some even claiming that the couple could be headed for separation. Now, Govinda’s nephew Vinay Anand has shared his reaction to the ongoing controversy and Sunita’s public remarks.
Vinay Anand Responds to Affair Rumours
In an interview with Hindi Rush, Vinay, who has worked in both Hindi and Bhojpuri cinema, revealed that he chose to address the rumours directly with his uncle. However, he admitted that he was cautious about how to approach the subject, given their close bond.
He explained that he did not want to appear as though he was interfering in Govinda’s personal life, describing their relationship as similar to that of a father and son. Despite his hesitation, he eventually asked the actor outright whether there was any truth to the alleged affair. According to Vinay, Govinda firmly denied the claims, stating that there was nothing of that sort. Vinay said he accepted his uncle’s response without further doubt.
At the same time, he confessed that Sunita’s recent interviews have made him somewhat uncomfortable. He noted that he has always seen her show respect toward Govinda, which made the current situation feel unusual to him.

Vinay also remarked that, considering Govinda’s long-standing stardom, it is not surprising that his name has been linked with actresses in the past, including Neelam Kothari, Rani Mukerji and Karisma Kapoor. However, he clarified that he was speaking light-heartedly and emphasized that there is no truth to the present rumours. He added that Govinda is currently focused on maintaining his fitness and working hard.
Sunita’s Stand on Forgiveness
Earlier, Sunita addressed the speculation during a Q&A session with journalists. She stated that while Govinda is her childhood love, forgiveness would depend on change. According to her, she would consider forgiving him if he reforms and aligns with her expectations. She also expressed frustration over the continuous media coverage and said she does not wish to hear more about the rumours circulating in the news.
Govinda Breaks His Silence
In a separate interview with a news agency, Govinda responded to Sunita’s remarks and the controversy surrounding his alleged link-up with a newcomer named Komal. He said he felt relieved that Komal has chosen not to speak publicly about the issue. Thanking her, he remarked that her silence has helped prevent the situation from escalating further. He also described her as someone who is not seeking publicity or attention through controversy.
Govinda and Sunita, who married in 1987, share two children — Yashvardhan Ahuja and Tina Ahuja. Despite the ongoing rumours, members of the family continue to publicly deny any truth to the allegations.
