Dehradun: Popular Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma is facing serious legal trouble after an FIR was registered against him following a controversial performance at DAV (PG) College in Dehradun.
The incident has gained widespread attention after FIR Filed Against Masoom Sharma in connection with alleged abusive and inappropriate language used during a stage performance at the Student Union Week closing ceremony on April 10. Videos from the event have gone viral, triggering strong reactions on social media.
According to police officials, FIR Filed Against Masoom Sharma under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to obscene acts, criminal intimidation, and insulting the modesty of women. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation has been initiated into the matter.
Dehradun City SP Pramod Kumar stated that the case is being thoroughly examined. The FIR Filed Against Masoom Sharma has also drawn attention from administrative authorities due to the presence of students and dignitaries at the event, including Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Following the growing outrage, the FIR Filed Against Masoom Sharma has also been taken up by the Haryana State Commission for Women, which has issued a summons asking the singer to appear before the panel in Panchkula on April 18.
Meanwhile, protests have erupted in parts of Dehradun demanding strict action, while police continue their investigation into the matter.
