Sharing her perspective, the actor emphasized that menstruation is a natural part of life and should not be treated as a joke.

‘Period Not A Punchline’

Speaking candidly, Ayesha Khan on Periods highlighted how society often makes light of menstruation. “For us, it is a very normal thing. Every month you go through a cycle, and we are so used to it that we often don’t even realise we are on our periods while doing so many things,” she said. She added that after her interview, the memes quickly escalated, turning her personal experience into a “national joke.”

Educating Men About Menstruation

Ayesha Khan on Periods stressed the importance of educating boys and men about menstruation. She stated, “We really need to educate our sons and our brothers. Most of the jokes online were clearly from men, and they were really bad.” Khan noted that even memes referencing filmmaker Aditya Dhar mocked her statement, but she remained unapologetic and proud of managing her work while on her period.

Personal Challenges on Set
