Bhagwant Singh Mann Govt aims to make government schools far more better : Education Minister
Chandigarh, February 26: Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the results of Mission Samarth are encouraging.
He was addressing a workshop on mission Samarth organised at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute for Public Administration here today.
In his address, the Minister said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was making all out efforts towards making the state’s government schools and its infrastructure far more better. He said that the best infrastructure were being setup in the schools besides ensuring proper boundary walls,
cleaning arrangements, availability of requisite furniture, etc so as to further strengthen the educational environment in the Government schools. He said at the same time the department and officials were also making tireless efforts in bring in reforms in terms of infrastructure.
The Minister said that different works were being done in 18,000 schools of total 19,000 schools in the state including construction works as well as the enhancing facilities.
The education minister said that due to the efforts of the government and the hard work of the teachers, there is an increase in the level of reading and learning of students in schools.
Speaking on this occasion, the CEO of NGO Samrath, Ms. Rukmani Banerjee said that our NGO Working in Punjab for last 18 years. We have had vast expertise during this period which now being implemented across the country. She said that Punjab is the first state of the country which has worked in this direction by taking requisite steps thus registering better results.
During her visit to different schools, said Mrs Banerjee adding that they discussed the problems being faced by the teachers, which were also being sorted out so as to ensure improved educational environment.
She said that Punjab was the first state in the country to start pre-primary schools in the schools of Punjab.
