EC changes date of Bye Elections for 4 constituencies in Punjab: Sibin C

–        Revised date for Bye Election is November 20, 2024

Chandigarh, November 04: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has changed the date of Bye Elections for 4 constituencies in Punjab from November 13, 2024 (Wednesday) to November 20, 2024 (Wednesday) for 10-Dera Baba Nanak, 44-Chabbewal (SC), 84- Gidderbaha & 103- Baranala Assembly Constituencies.

          Divulging the details, Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab, Sibin C said that ECI in a communiqué informed that considering large scale social, cultural and religious engagements on November 13, 2024 may cause inconvenience to large number of people, give rise to various logistic issues and may lead to reduced voters’ participation during the poll. Now, The Commission, having considered these factors and representations, has decided to change the date of poll from 13.11.2024 (Wednesday) to 20.11.2024 (Wednesday).

          The date of Counting and Completion of Poll with respect to above election are 23.11.2024 (Saturday) & 25.11.2024 (Monday) respectively, CEO added.
