CUET 2025 Latest News and Updates : The changes in CUET 2025

About CUET

https://www.ugc.gov.in/pdfnews/4656721_CUET_Public-Notice.pdf  – UGC Public Notice Regarding Admission Process 2025″

A standardized test operated by the National Testing Agency at three different levels—CUET (UG),  CUET (PG), and CUET (PhD)—for admission to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs at Central Universities and other participating institutions is the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), formerly known as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). It is also accepted by number of other State Universities and Deemed universities in India.

The CUET exam is one of the biggest examinations in India held once in a year to offer admissions for various undergraduate programmes at around 345 participating universities across India.

CUET 2025 is a single exam for all the programs in Universities across Country. CUET  covers all Undergraduate programs in Commerce, Science, Humanities and even Engineering.
CUET exam is a standardized exam that gives a fair chance to every candidate from different educational backgrounds. In 2025, 500 Universities participated in this exam for their admission to various courses and in 2025 this number is likely to go up to 500+ in 2025 which includes distinguished Universities like Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)
With a vision of “One Nation, One Entrance Exam”, CUET exam will become mandatory for almost all Undergraduate courses in India in the future. The CUET will be required for all students finishing their +2 to get into any University, regardless of their field of study. In the future this test might become the first step in exams like the NEET and JEE, making it a stepping stone to clearing these prestigious exams.

What are the changes in CUET 2025?

CUET 2025 will see a reduction in the number of subjects from 63 to 37, and students can now choose a maximum of five subjects. The exam will be conducted exclusively in computer-based test (CBT) mode, and all questions will be compulsory. The total number of domain subjects have been reduced from 29 to 23. The number of test papers in CUET will be reduced from 6 to 5. The University Grant Commission has formed an expert panel to prepare a proposal to improve the examination process of CUET for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from the feedback of the students, teachers, parents and institutions.

  • • There is no standardization procedure for the CUET exam.
  • • The CUET 2025 has added two additional domain subjects: tourism and fashion studies.
  • • The CUET UG 2025 test will be administered via hybrid mode.
  • • The NTA has trimmed the test sample size from 10 to six. Either three domain subjects, two language topics, and one general test, or four domain subjects, one language subject, and one general test, are available to candidates.
  • • The revised CUET 2025 UG online form fee. Candidates in the general category must pay Rs. 1,000, OBC-NCL and EWS applicants Rs. 900, and candidates in the SC/ST/third gender Rs. 800 to submit a CUET form to choose up to three subjects.
  • • There are now only 380 CUET exam locations thanks to the NTA. There are now 26 testing locations outside of India and 354 testing locations inside India.
  • • Cuetug.ntaonline.in is the new official website for CUET 2025. The old website was cuet.samarth.ac.in.
